Pastor Linda Mankey
Pastor Linda Mankey has been serving this congregation for 2 years. She also serves the Muse Presbyterian Church in Muse, Pa. She has been in ministry for 23 years, serving various churches in Washington Presbytery. Her passion for ministry is care and compassion for people of all ages and proclaiming the Gospel message which is very simple:LOVE.
Ordinarily Pastor Linda is in the office Thursday 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m.
Sunday School
Sunday School is held each week (except during the summer) at 10:00 a.m. for adults and children in the fellowship hall.
Nursery
Nursery care is available each week during the church service in the fellowship hall. Robin Hoover is our Nursery Coordinator.
Bible School
We offer one week of Bible School during the month of June. Bible School will be held June 21-25, 2010. We offer a great closing program on Sunday morning following Bible School. This is held in the Fellowship Hall during the worship hour at 11:00 a.m..
Mission
On a monthly basis we take a food and monetary offering for the McGuffey Food Bank during the Sunday offertory.
At Christmas we collect personal items for two local personal care homes (Hillsview Nursing Care Facility and Breese's Nursing Care Facility) and distribute them when our choir goes for Christmas Caroling
At Christmas, we also participate in the Christmas Shoebox mission coordinated by Shepherd's Purse.
Each Christmas Eve we take an offering for a local mission; this varies and is designated each year.
On Superbowl Sunday, we participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring. This benefits the Washington City Mission.
Our Bible School students raise money for a different mission each summer through Gsspel Light World Wide.
We regularly support the Washington City Mission and the Washington Women's Center. This year for the first time we were also able to give to the Mel Blount Youth Home.
In addition, we participate in Washington Presbytery Missions, General Assembly Missions, and Synod Missions.
